Hootenannies at the Brooklyn Rod & Gun Club

Brooklyn Rod & Gun Club, 59 Kent Ave., Brooklyn, NY

On many Sunday nights between 7 and 10 p.m., you can hear me playing acoustic piano at the weekly "hootenannies" at the Brooklyn Rod & Gun Club. It's a friendly, cozy scene where people play and sing in country, folk and traditional song styles. On one recent Sunday night we had nine or 10 people harmonizing all at once, plus four acoustic guitars, ukelele, mandolin an banjo. Lovely. Come on out some night to check it out, or to play and sing. The more, the merrier.

The Brooklyn Rod & Gun Club is a private social club that hosts live music on Friday and Sunday evenings, and occasionally at other times. It's at 59 Kent Ave. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, right on the East River at North 10th Street.
