Rods and Cones Return Again!

Brighton Music Hall, 158 Brighton Ave., Allston, MA

"In the mid-1980s, Rods and Cones, a quirky, 12-legged Boston band, crawled under people’s skins with their throbbing local hit “Education in Love.” The group’s chugging, percussive sound and the unbridled performances of lead vocalist Chris Kelley made Rods and Cones one of the must-see live acts of that storied era. In 2010, the Cones regrouped to perform a few tunes, and the results were so well received that for one night only, Rods and Cones will return to play a full set at the Brighton Music Hall. If you knew the Cones way back when, come out to see some old friends. And if you don’t know the Cones, come see and hear what the fuss is still about." Save the date! Rods and Cones, that odd yet compelling Boston band from the 1980s, of which I had the honor of being bass player, will be returning to the Boston area once again. Last February, we reunited for the first time in 22 years at House of Blues. The many friends who came out that night made it a sparkling night. So we're gonna come back from more, at the Brighton Music Hall in Allston, Mass., on Saturday night, May 14. Also on the bill will be the Cinnamon Fuzz.
