On Wednesday, April 6, starting at 9:30 p.m., I'll be playing a rare solo piano set -- actually two sets -- at the Blackbird Parlour, 197 Bedford Ave. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, very close to the Bedford Ave. stop on the L train. This is a cozy, European-style cafe with wine and beer, famous hamburgers and grilled cheese sandwiches. The Blackbird is run by music lovers, and they've been booking some interesting jazz and blues. I was glad to be invited to do my thing.
So if you're looking to brighten your Wednesday spot, pull up a chair. I'll be playing some honky-tonk and blues, plus some assorted favorite tunes and some original stuff. Hope to see you there.
