Every Saturday in May, Mitra Sumara will play an early set, 6 p.m. sharp, at Barbes, 376 9th St., corner of 6th Avenue, in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn.
We're looking forward to this residency in one of the city's great little listening rooms. Our sets will be early -- still daylight -- and we will bring you the sounds of pre-revolutionary Iran, funky, psychedelic Persian pop from the 1960s and early '70s.
